The image of a local mom and a pop shop always makes me smile. Seriously, who doesn't love local storefronts? If you're anything Image Masking like me, you have every little store in your hometown etched in your brain. If one disappears, you're shocked! “Chuck's Cupcakes is closed?! How could they do that?” we find our adult selves whining to our unfazed parents. Local business marketing image of a main street with shops Living in downtown Boston and walking to work on one of the city's Image Masking main shopping streets, I tend to stay pretty on top of new store openings. But not everyone has this advantage. Many people commute to work on the highways, never getting a glimpse of new store openings. Of course, there are streets Image Masking and places near my apartment where I never venture, so I would never come across these businesses unless I found them online. Maybe I read an article on Bostinno, one of Boston's local news sites, or (the most likely scenario) found the storefront on Google. It's one of the many reasons every local business needs a strategy to show up in Google's search results. What Image Masking if your online presence is weak or non-existent? If you're a local business and are n't easily found on Google, that's a problem in itself! But it is very common. Many local business owners aren't tech savvy, haven't invested in online advertising, and Image Masking are confident that the storefront itself will attract business. Well, if you're in a prime location, that may be true, but your business will skyrocket if you expand into online advertising. Restaurants, boutiques, repair shops, beauty salons – all of these physical activities should benefit from online advertising. Google is trying to solve this problem with its Image Masking new initiative called “Let's put our cities on the map”, with the aim of helping 30,000 cities to bring their local businesses online. If you fit into the mold described above, I highly recommend enrolling in this program. "This bespoke program provides each city Image Masking with a personalized website where local businesses can find helpful resources, including a new diagnostic tool that shows businesses how they appear on search and maps, a step-by-step guide to sign in with Google My Business, and a free website and domain name for a year with our partner Startlogic," Google says. Did I mention it's free? Maybe you Image Masking already advertise on Google, but if you're looking for ways to get more online visibility and in-store visitors, follow these four tips to drive more business to your storefront through Google.
